Citriodora

Description

Corymbia Citriodora (formerly known as Eucalyptus citriodora), or Lemon-scented gum, is the “aristocratic” version of the family.

If Globulus is the worker and Polybractea is the pharmacist, Citriodora is the perfumer.

Why does it stand out?
The Aroma: It is its most characteristic feature. If you rub a leaf, it gives off a powerful, clean lemon scent. This is due to the high content of citronellal.
The Appearance: It is a beautiful, tall tree with a smooth, white or slightly pink trunk that looks like marble. Its leaves are narrow, long and elegant.
Natural Repellent: Because of the citronellal, it is considered one of the best plants for repelling mosquitoes and other insects.

Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil is the only herbal ingredient officially recommended by many health organisations as an effective insect repellent.
